
UBI Membership Application
The purpose of the United Bowhunters of Illinois is:
• To promote fellowship among people whose primary interest in the field of bowhunting is ethics and sportsmanship:
• To encourage and promote the taking of wild game in a fair, humane and ethical manner while hunting with the bow and arrow.
• To educate and share with others the knowledge, safety skills and experiences gained through bowhunting.
• To promote safety and ethical behavior to the non-hunting public.
• To encourage and support sound bowhunting legislation and oppose legislation that is not consistent with its purpose or that is harmful bowhunting.
• To promote and educate people about the wise use of natural resources, conservation of wildlife and preservation of natural habitat
• To work with the Department of Natural Resources to achieve these purposes.
• To promote the heritage and traditions of bowhunting.
UNITED BOWHUNTERS OF ILLINOIS RULES OF FAIR CHASE
The term "Fair Chase" shall not include the taking of animals under the following conditions:
• Helpless in, or because of, deep snow or helpless on ice.
• While swimming. Helpless in a trap.
• While confined behind fences as on a game farm, etc.
• In defiance of game laws or out of season.
• By "jacklighting" or shining at night.
• From any power vehicle or power boat.
• By the use of any tranquilizers or poison.
• By the use of firearms, except when hunting with a firearm during legal firearm seasons.
• By the use of a bow and arrow to which any electronic device is attached.
